Becka Brown: music

Blow Away

(Becka Brown)
Becka Brown and Matt Pierson
Nothing but the truth. Words carry a tremendous amount of weight, especially when they are spoken by someone who is supposed to love and protect you. Love is strong. But words, just the wrong kind of words can kill love dead. This was written at the end of a marriage that was really not good. It was very, very bad. But that is all ancient history now.
blow away

words aren't just words - you seem to think they are
yours have drawn across my heart a veil of black
I know the power of words, I bear the scars - you can
say you're sorry, but you can never take them back

oh, go ahead - blow - what do you care
blow your cold and bitter breezes - nothing matters,
nothing pleases - never mind, it never ceases - blow
blow your cold and bitter breezes til what's left of us
just freezes - blow my heart to weary heart to pieces

you can speak blessings on me, you choose a curse
you forget the words of you mouth are under your control
don't try and justify, it just makes matters worse
you don't have to raise a hand to batter someone's soul

go ahead - blow - what do you care
blow your cold and bitter breezes - til what's left of us
just freezes - blow my heart to bits and pieces - I am gone
and you can blow away - I am gone and you can blow away
