Do You Know Me
Someone recently asked me in an interview what motivated me to make this cd. Truth is, I didn't set out to make a cd at first. This project began with the intention of just demo-ing some of my songs, sort of putting paint to canvas -- at the urging of my friend Matt Pierson (bassist extraordinaire and, ultimately, producer of four great cuts on this cd) who believed my songs were begging to be recorded. And as we obliged said songs, they took on a life of their own and would not be denied. Much like Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey, or Frankenstein's monster (it's alive!). In fact, you may say this is a monster record (if you'd like to say that, only both those examples are creepy and this cd is not creepy at all - it's quite lovely and good). Anyway, I had meanwhile been working with my friend/soul-brother, producer Regie Hamm on demo-ing "Gravity," which turned out so cool we ended up doing a bunch more songs and, voila! We had a smash cd! Regie, by the way, is an amazing, award-winning hit songwriter and artist whose American Idol song, sung by David Cook, "The Time of my Life, stayed a number one hit for a very long time. And you should check out his own brilliant music at regiehamm.com. But wait! please check mine out first, okay? I mean since you're here and all, you might as well make yourself at home and get to know me. That's why you came by, right? I thought so, and I'm so glad you did.
Peace and love,
p.s. To learn about more of the brilliant people who contributed to this project, please see below. Had I done this all alone . . . well, let's not think about that, shall we?
